Stuck at Home: Try Virtual Traveling!!!
Updated: Jul 22, 2020

When you stuck at home just because of unusual reasons, it can seem pretty disgusting and downright depressing. Even though I've been feeling like prison due to Covid-19 stay at home order. Still, I'm grateful for the privilege I've had in being able to travel to many countries. It's a new experience where we are doing different adjustment with the time. But, this is the reality for the current travel restrictions.
The time spent at home given me opportunity to reflect on why I travel? what do I do? What do I explore? The biggest reason for me is to learn about different cultures, different traditions all around the world. While I may be room-bound now, that doesn't stop me from exploring to those same experiences, just now from within the comforts of my own room.
Here's some ways to have all the experiences of travel without leaving home: Virtual Traveling.
1. Virtual sightseeing
So many museums, culture sightseeing places, sites, aquariums, zoos offer online sightseeing or google uploaded images. You can open it by just typing it on google.
Here are a few of my favorites:
Neuschwanstein Castle: This has been on my bucket list for a long time. While I can't visit in person, but I can take a virtual tour by google. History and Architecture are fascinating.
Colmar Town: Exploring the architecture of Europe has its own benefits like cool pictures, history. I'm really loving the great architecture of European village.

2. Explore through Photography
Clicking great picture during travel is kind of art. I'm missing that as well, reminiscing of some of inspirational trip like Lithuania or Belgium or La Tomatino Festival. Through photography, we can explore the dream destination and can take a virtual tour of famous sites. Thanks to the Instagram, where photos are shared through location. I clicked some picture too of my travel timeline.

3. Learn destination Language words
Try taking or utilizing this time to learn some words of your destination. Like, if you're planning to visit Paris, then try some french words. During my traveling, I observed cool things like many local restaurants give tissue paper where owner print some common words of their local language on tissue papers. It is a nice way to learn some common word about that place. Also there are so many resources online for language learning.
Here are some online resources:
1. Duolingo
2. Mango Language
3. Memerize
4. Italki
Maybe you'll make some friends during your visit in future!
4. Check History
My trip to Copenhagen inspired me to learn about the events in the past. Before visiting the Copenhagen, I read about danish history and traditions. I've picked up some articles or videos to learn about the history of a place I love to visit. So, next time, I will have better view about that place history, politics, significance and historical sites.
Take time to read up on the history of places you're interested in.

5. Learn Cooking
If you're targeting a place for more than 4 days, it is mandatory to know about some cooking sense. Like, in Europe, Hostels provide kitchen where you can cook whatever you want. You have all utensils and other stuffs.
I tried some dished in Germany where I'm doing my masters. As, I'm a vegetarian, have a few options to eat.

6. Travel blogs & things to do videos
They say 'Absence makes the heart grow stronger'. Maybe because I can't travel right now, but I' watching traveling or blogging videos more than ever! I'm living through others experiences by watching 'Things to do' videos.

7. Editing skills
Time to upload the memories or to share it with relatives. It is always a great feeling to have some sense of editing skills. Like you can have some knowledge about Snapseed, Lightroom & Photoshop.
