A hanseatic city of Hamburg, not only provides you the inner city beauty, but also offers many day trips to many beautiful cities. There are so many things to do in Hamburg. Still, visiting those old towns or beautiful cities nearby Hamburg is worth visiting. In this blog, I'll ride you some amazing places which is not so far from Hamburg. After living in Hamburg for a year, I've been spending my holidays or weekends to explore these beautiful towns.
I love European old architecture as an Indian because it is something unique which I can't find in India. Else, we have nature too. So, I have cravings to see the beautiful old villages of Germany or other European countries. Here I'm presenting these cities with you:
1. Lüneburg

Lüneburg is just 45 km from Hamburg central train station. It is very old and well preserved town. It offers you the 200-300 years old architecture, narrow street, different design of windows, red-bricks houses and restaurants with traditional German cuisine. You can reach this beautiful old city by train in 35 minutes.
2. Lübeck

The Hanseatic city of Lübeck, is a city in Northern Germany. It is a beautiful, old hanseatic city, located very close to Hamburg. It is very different from Lüneburg. This city is famous for its world famous chocolate or cake flavor 'Marzipan' as it is the origin of Marzipan flavor. There is a famous Marzipan shop in Lübeck which is called 'Niederegger Lübeck'. I'll not mentioned the visiting places in Lübeck, as onw should explore the every single street of this city. Every street has amazing alleys, worth visiting. The best way to go to Lübeck is by train from Hamburg which will take 50 minutes to get there. You can use Flixbus too.
3. Stade

Stade, a city close to Hamburg or in the last zone of Hamburg, is another beautiful small town.
This city offers visitors many excursion options like museum or old traditional architecture. It is also perfect for a group trips or meetups with strangers. Surrounded by the moat, the colorful facades of the half-timbered houses adorn the scenery of the old town. From Hamburg hbf, there is direct connection of S-bahn number 3 which will drives you to Stade in 55 minutes.
4. Bremen

A fairy tale city of Germany. It’s old town, tales and traditions make it a perfect destination for a one day trip, or even a weekend stay. It is one hour far from Hamburg. Explore the city center with some traditional old cafes, walk along the river Weser, listen to the “glockenspiel” on one of the old narrow streets. 'Schnoorviertel' is the oldest street in Bremen which offers you many beautiful houses, shops and cafes.
5. Celle

Celle is a place with a picturesque old town with over 400 half-timbered houses and a palace in the Renaissance and Baroque styles. This city is famous for old architecture like Lüneburg, Lübeck but so different in the design of houses and streets. It is the second largest city between Hamburg and Hanover. It will take two hours to get there from Hamburg but worth seeing it. You will love it.
There are many other cities which is nearby Hamburg. But, I found these cities very interesting. I hope you find these cities interesting. When you explored it, tell me in the comments about the experience.
